The Caliburn G2 coil heads are notorious for being messy. While I have had the occasional messy pod, they do stay clean for the most part. The Caliburn GK2 uses the same pods and coil heads from the Caliburn G2.
The Uwell Caliburn GK2 device itself is pretty rad, it’s much less slender than the other Caliburn AK2 ( Koko ) but still offers a nice hand-feel, and is honestly so lightweight, that you could easily rock it on a lanyard.
Uwell kinda killed it with this Kalmia pod. FYI I shot this video over 2 weeks ago and it’s still banging along proudly. Flavor hasn’t dipped, quality hasn’t dipped. The one Kalmia Pod battery still has a slightly stiffer airflow, but honestly after using it so much it’s nowhere near a deal-breaker, especially if you are after a tighter draw.
This is what I would consider to be a “tight” draw. Nothing open or loose about it. The Kalmia pod is a hair-trigger.
The Uwell VALYRIAN 3 looks dented to me and will always look dented to me and I can’t not see it. It’s enough to make me not want to use this device regularly. The VALYRIAN 3 sub tank tho… now that is a banger.
How do you now love that flip top filling?! The 0.14 spare mesh coil head in this VALYRIAN is a BANGER. The 0.35 SS Mech is great, but less flavorful and much more OPEN of an airflow. I can only assume the 0.15 and 0.16 coil heads are equally awesome.
Caliburn G2, I actually didn’t see this coming from UWELL. I assumed the Caliburn A2 would be their flagship pod… then this…
The reasoning is confusing, but thankfully the vape from the Caliburn G2 is stellar. Especially without that AFC. It’s smooth and flavorful and crispy. It’s everything I love about Caliburn coil heads. This is a replaceable coil style, rather than the “sealed” pods of the A2… so that’s a thing.
So the Aeglos “tank pod” from Uwell is basically the Uwell version of the VooPoo magnetic base system thing. It’s just a modern sub tank except now with magnets … because magnets. I get it, it’s cool and the lower ohm AEGLOS coil heads work great in this “Tank Pod”. Higher ohm coil heads aren’t my favorite but your mileage may vary.
The company that does the Caliburn A2, arguably the best MTL pod on the market currently, doesn’t have a good MTL option for this and that is a bummer.
Interesting few months for the pods ranked, no HUGE surprises regarding the Caliburn A2, it’s still banging right along. I forgot to say this in the video but I have had one single completely junky Caliburn A2 pod, lasted maybe 1 day. Otherwise, they have been awesome.
Vthru still strong, honestly the Havok is still going SHOCKINGLY strong. Call it what you want, that SORIN Air Mod is kind of laying waste to most everything else on my desk. It’s kind of crazy. Ultimately how you define a “pod” is up to you, use whatever keeps you off cigarettes.
I really think this Uwell Aeglos H2 mod pod is a sleeper. It’s a real nice performer for not a whole lot of money. The MTL kinda sucks, but as a restricted lung, it’s very nice. The 0.18 coils at 42 – 44 whats is a really enjoyable vape IMO.
New vapers for sure, veteran vapers maybe if you’re looking for something in this category. You want something a little lighter weight, a little more “corporate” feeling? The Aeglos H2 mod pod could be what you need to quit cigarettes.
Last recap: OG Caliburn good. OG KOKO good. Caliburn-G meh. KOKO-Prime meh. Caliburn A2 GOOD!! KOKO A2 GOOD!! I feel pretty confident in my time with these coil heads. Happy to report they are really great. I like them more than the G coil heads and I like them MUCH more than the Yearn Neat 2 coil heads. This Caliburn A2 feels like a throwback to the first one, and I like that a lot.
Best Caliburn so far. Which will probably be beaten by the 2022 Caliburn / KoKo series. The KoKo has a lanyard thing too if you dig those, it works great.
The UWELL Whirl T1 Pod suffers from one and really ONLY one, pretty severe flaw IMO. The dang Whirl T1 pods will not stay seated on the battery. Sitting perfectly alone, the pod will somehow wiggle its way out and become loose.
When this happens the whole system kinda breaks down, the auto-switch won’t fire and you don’t get to use it. A quick press will fix this, but doing a quick press literally every time you vape is ridiculous and there are mountains of pods out there that this does not happen with.
